ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) is a technology for transmitting digital information at a high bandwidth on existing phone lines to homes and businesses. ADSL was specifically designed to exploit the one-way nature of most multimedia communication in which large amounts of information flow toward the user and only a small amount of interactive control information is returned toward the ISP.

A filtering device to separate high frequency signals(Data) and low frequency signals(Voice) coexisting over same pair of subscriber line located at both ends of the line, CO(Central Office) and CP(Customer Premises). The filtering should be preformed while maintaining the quality of the end-to-end.

SDSL is the Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line which has the same maximum baud rate in both the upstream & downstream direction.

VDSL is said Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line, modulating or demodulating the data more than 10MB through existing subscriber line without one-way or both-way. The shorter the distance, the faster the data transfer rate. In addition, as a asymmetric technology, average upstream baud rate is 1.6Mbps and average downstream baud rate is 51Mbps, at the maximum baud rate of 52Mbps.
