Definition of hybrid
- A hybrid Integrated Circuit is manufactured on an insulating
substrate utilizing some combination of thick/thin film components,
monolithic semiconductors, and other discrete parts.
- The substrate is consisted of an alumina or ceramic wafer on
which a single or multiple layers of conductors, resistors, and capacitors
are deposited or screened.

 |
Advantages of hybrid
- Higher density, Reduced weight and size
- Small absolute and relative tolerances
- Long term stability and reliability
- Lower temperature coefficient of resistance
- Improved specifications on circuits
- Development period can be shortened
- Custom design is available
