In the 10BASE-T Ethernet LAN network,
HUB and NIC(Network Interface Card) is connected by 4-wire and
maximum allowable length is about 150m according to our test. Most of the building provided 4-wire between wall jacks to terminals in basement for POTS( Plain Old Telephone Service ). If HUB is installed in basement where terminals for communication to and from outside of building, 10BASE-T Ethernet service can be provided without additional wiring to the POTS subscriber so that the subscriber can access to public data network and PSTN simultaneously as the following block diagram. |
